Wikio.com's list of top 100 political blogs

An interesting list. It mixes blogs spun off from the mainstream media, those associated with top liberal and conservative publications, heavily capitalized sites like The Huffington Post, and purely personal blogs that have acquired a big following. The rankings are based essentially on the numbers of links from other blogs, so that being among the "top" isn't just a matter of audience size but reach and influence among politically interested people on the internet.

You can see the whole list here. The top 10 are:

1 The Huffington Post

2 Think Progress

3 The Corner at National Review

4 Political Ticker (CNN blogs)

5 The Daily Dish (Andrew Sullivan at Atlantic)

6 Political Punch (at ABC News)

7 Michelle Malkin

8 Instapundit.com

9 Talking Points Memo

10 Political Animal (at Washington Monthly)

Alas, The Purple Center has a long way to go. Maybe next year!

  1. I didn't make it either. A toast to us for plugging away in semi-obscurity.
